Meet the Team

Reece Daniel

My name is Reece and I am obsessed with batteries. Most of my career has been spent toiling away in some of the most innovative battery labs in both industry and academia, building and testing novel battery chemistries and working on test equipment. Prior to getting into batteries, I served as a helicopter mechanic/door-gunner in the Marine Corps, where I cultivated my skills as a wrench turner. In my spare time I enjoy building homegrown electric vehicles, promoting scientific literacy, writing, and pretending to know how to play guitar. I currently live in Malden, Massachusetts with my wife, our (3) daughters, and our (2) cats, one of which actually likes us.

Founder & Principal

Ben Howell, PhD

Hi there! My name is Benjamin Howell. A chemical engineer at heart, I earned my doctorate working on flow batteries and solid-state lithium batteries. I'm passionate about battery science - from high-performance chemistries that will revolutionize our daily lives to cheap and abundant chemistries that will end energy scarcity, my goal is to push all of it forward with a skillset that is equal parts researcher, engineer, and technician. Outside of the lab, you can find me restoring old mopeds, doing amateur construction projects, or crafting the next session of a D&D campaign.

Natasha George

Head of Operations

Natasha is a startup operator and engineering leader with 14+ years driving early-stage climate tech initiatives across engineering, product, and operations. She has led 10x production scale-ups, built data-driven SOPs, and managed battery R&D and production strategy. Having lived in four countries, Natasha bring a global perspective to leadership. Her core strengths are operational rigor, cross-functional project management, partnerships development, and team leadership. In her free time, she likes to bake, watch re-runs of Top chef, and create arts & crafts projects with her kids.

Precious Akande

Battery Engineering Intern

My name is Precious Akande, and I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Boston University. Originally from Nigeria and now based in Massachusetts, I’ve always been drawn to hands-on problem solving, building things, and understanding how technology can improve people’s lives and communities. At BU, I’ve loved combining engineering theory with hands-on projects involving CAD, manufacturing, robotics, and electromechanical design. I especially enjoy collaborative projects where I can test, troubleshoot, and improve. Outside of engineering, I enjoy working out, playing rugby, and exploring new experiences, spending time with friends. I’m looking forward to battery technology and contributing to such an innovative environment here at DCG.

Rohan Chaudhry

Battery Engineering Intern

I am a junior Mechanical Engineering student from UMass Amherst with a strong passion for climate change and energy innovation.

I was drawn to DCG because I wanted to experience what it feels like working in a startup environment with a strong focus on independence and building a better tomorrow.
